Week One- It's all in the Heart
Here's a few things I've been crafting on....
In prep for my daughters birthday and valentines day, I have made a few heart inspired crafts. The heart garland is made from cutout magazines and was inspired by a recent post on Compai. I have done a similar project before using various shapes and grouping colors, but made mobiles instead of garland. Both are fun and easy. I messed up on the first round of garland hearts, making the holes too low so that the heart flipped down, so I ended up using these hearts to make the Valentine's day cards. Did I mention I love dragonflies? I made this card for a special friend...hope she likes it!
Hope you Enjoy!

Mood Boards for home decorating
Chantel’s Design Dilemma
Chris & Lydia’s Design Dilemma
Andy & Courtney’s Design Dilemma
Bonnie’s Design Dilemma
Loving these mood boards found on Young House Love. I love the colors of sea glass and like to incorporate lots of natural elements (but learning how to do that in a less cluttered way). Creating mood boards can be a great way to hone in on your tastes, create color pallets and begin to organize your wants and needs for the space you are decorating. Young House Love is a GREAT blog with TONS of resources. They are a must see!

Welcome to Desire to DIY
Let me tell you a bit about me....
My name is Mandy and I live in the gorgeous state of California, nestled in the beach town of Santa Barbara. I have two amazing kids and one humdinger of a husband (and jack-of-all-trades!). I dream of many projects but begin few. I drool over the great artistic DIY blogs out there (and there are many) and only desire to be as crafty as many of you. And so goes the name of this blog.
So in an effort to bring out my creative juices I have decided to commit to what may end up being my worst nightmare: Project 365 (did I mention I don't sew, crochet, knit, weave, or know how to use power tools?). Every day I will create something or add on to the current project.
I promise to keep you updated weekly and share my progress (Week One: "I threaded the machine!"). I invite you join me in this creative journey, share your thoughts and your own projects.
Project 365, here I come!
